	Huntersville shares the 2008 Rally Race Champs Choice Award

What is The Soap Box Derby?

A youth racing program for boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 17. This is a unique program that encourages close adult-youth activities while building and racing their gravity powdered car together. The youth are encouraged to do as much of the work as their ability will permit. Spending quality time together and having fun is the most important!


			Our Goal: The Huntersville Soap Box Derby Chapter’s goal is to promote families working together, to have fun, and to teach youngsters some of the basic skills of workmanship, as well as the importance of sportsmanship, commitment, and the perseverance to continue a project to completion.

Kids of all ages come to race. If you are 8 to 17, come and experience the “Trill of the Hill”. It’s great family fun for the
whole family.

Congratulations to Sarah Evitt our 2009 Masters Local Champ, & Tarryn Rutherford our 2009 Super Stock Local Champ, & Joshua Allard our 2009 Local Stock Champ. We want to wish them “LOTS of LUCK” as they race in the 72th All-American World Champion Soap Box Derby Race in Akron Ohio.

The Huntersville Chapter also sent 6 Rally Champs to Akron to compete in Akron.
They are : Hanna & Justin Allard & Jordan Fullbright in the Stock Division, Kristina Jone in Super Stock,
& Zoe Blubaugh & Josh Puett in the Masters Division .
